A quick trip to visit my family in Cornwall resulted in a unique experience - hot air balloons! The balloon championship was part of Lift-Off '97, which had over 40 hot air balloons participating. We went to watch them on a night when the weather was threatening over Cornwall, but clear to the north - so we all trekked a few miles up the road to the baseball field in St. Andrews West where these photos were taken of the balloons in the various stages of preparing for flight.
