Meet Ahtasham! He’s a front-end HubSpot Developer on the Computan team. He specializes in making HubSpot Themes based on designs coming from the many HubSpot Agency Partners that we work with. However, his super strength is tuning HubSpot sites up and making them go fast. In this installment of Behind The Coding, Ahtasham tells us why Instagram keeps him up late at night, how a person he dislikes awarded him a scholarship and why he’s always laughing with his Project Manager.

Hi Ahtasham! How are you?

I am good Sajeel. How are you?

Good thanks! What are the last 3 things you Googled?

First off, Google is the guru! I love it.

It certainly is!

The first thing I Googled is the price of a UPS battery

Ok, why?

I like to have as much independent power at home. Especially with load-shedding happening these days. My current power source is not running, so a backup UPS to keep power really helps.

Ver true! What else have you been Googling?

Paycharts job fields

Why? Are you looking to switch?

No. One of our clients is trying to show Paycharts on a HubSpot website. But the embed code is not working. I guess the chart can only be embedded in one site or there is an issue with how that embed script is rendering with the HubSpot CMS.

So what will we do to resolve?

We can make our own using the fields.

And what was another thing you Googled?

Bank hours! I was checking for a friend on the road and heading to the bank.

You are a good friend!

I try to be yes. I am generally a pretty jolly person 😊.

I agree with you! When was the last time you sat after hours to solve a hard problem?

2 months ago, on a HubSpot CMS development project for one of the marketing agencies we support.

What was the issue?

Actually, the issue wasn’t that difficult, but it was new to me. The Instagram posts weren’t dynamically showing on the page.

You usually like to work on Instagram after hours though right?

Hahahaha....yes I do love Instagram, but this was work-related Instagram. I needed an access token, got the solution, and resolved it.

Then it was back to the usual late-night Instagram.

Hahaha! Yes exactly

Who do you follow on Instagram?

Usual stuff. Celebrities, different brands, cars.

Do you like cars?

Absolutely. I really like cars, seeing car deals, checking out supercars, and things like that.

Interesting! Who are 3 people you'd like to have dinner (dawaat) with at the same time and why?

I’d invite a group of friends from when I was 11 – 2 boys and a girl.

Ok. Who are they?

Shabaz Gohar, Usman Shabbir, and Bela Ahmed

Why these 3?

Shabaz and Usman were really good friends. We used to have a lot of fun and get into trouble a lot.

What about Bela? Usually at that age, girls aren’t part of the equation.

Not for me. I had a huge crush on Bela at the time! Actually, she is Shabaz’s cousin.

Hahahaha! That is funny. What would you guys eat?

Probably BBQ & Pizza. Kebabs and pizza. Can’t go wrong with that right?

Bela likes BBQ & Pizza?

I believe so hahahaa. It has been probably 15 years, so who knows?

When was the last time you cried tears of laughter?

I usually laugh a lot at Brat (Bratislav Brankovic, HubSpot Project Manager). His messages are funny, and he is a good-hearted PM. He’s so fun.

He definitely is. When was the first time you saw a laptop/computer?

I was 7 years old. It was at my Aunt’s house. She had a desktop with huge monitors. I used it to watch a TV show (Feeqa in Amreeka (America) ) and play Microsoft Spider.

But my first laptop was given to me by someone I don’t like. Shahbaz Sharif the former Chief Minister (Governor) of the state and current Prime Minister of Pakistan.

That’s interesting! Did he give you a laptop?

He created a scholarship that awarded good students with laptops. I was a good student and was awarded a laptop. But I don’t like his politics or his policies. I didn’t like them then, and I don’t like them now!

That must have been a conflicting thing for you? To receive such a nice award from someone you don’t think highly of.

Yes! Very true.

What is something your teammates don't know about you?

Generally, since I work at the office, most of my colleagues work at the office know a lot about me. I am pretty jovial. Many don’t know that I’m from a small town and do farm work.

Really? What kind of farm work?

I mean I know how to operate tractors and other large farm equipment. Most teammates probably think I’m a city guy!
