Habib Ullah

Meet Habib! He is a senior WordPress developer on the team, a very social person, and an avid gamer.  In this installment of Behind The Coding, Habib talks about what keeps him on his toes, his interest in speakers, and the first video game he ever played.

Hi Habib! What are the last 3 things you Googled?

Hi Sajeel!  The last things I Googled are all related to work.  I hope that’s ok!

Of course, it is!

I Googled things about the Divi Theme, looking for links to font faces and such. Also, I don’t really use Google.

Are you a fan of ChatGPT?

Yes, primarily.

Ok, when was the last time you worked after hours to solve a hard problem?

In my previous job actually.

Really? Not here?

No! Here, things are pretty organized, and I don’t have to stay late. In my previous job, I created a question-generating logic assessment tool.

Interesting! How did you build it?

It was built as a WordPress plugin with PHP and custom forms.  I also used Javascript for the FE logic.

Nice, Habib! Who are three people you'd like to have dinner with at the same time, and why?

One would be my father who passed away in 2018. I would catch up on life with him.

The chance to meet a parent again one more would be a big treat.  Who else?

Raja Zia Ul Haq

Tell me about Zia Ul Haq?

He is a religious scholar with a good sense of humor who is interested in mentoring youth. I find that really interesting.

Ok! Who else besides your father and Zia Ul Haq?

Another speaker!

You aren’t going to get to talk much at the table Habib!

I know, but I would invite Saqib Raza Mustafa. He’s a very calm speaker.

When was the last time you cried tears of laughter, Habib?

I caught up with teammates and friends about a month ago. We had a great time laughing and having fun, and we shared a lot of old stories.

That’s great, Habib! And what do you love about coding?

Oh, I love that coding keeps me on my toes.

Do you code standing up?

Hahaha, no, no. I mean, I figure out something new every day, and in this business, you can never claim you know all there is to know about it. I love that there is no finish line.

When was the first time you saw a laptop/computer?

I was 14 or 15 and my parents bought it for me so I could learn technology.

How big was it?

It had about 10 GB of space, which is really small by today’s standards. I used to play GTA Vice City on it.

A classic game!

Indeed it is.

What is something your teammates don't know about you?

They all think I’m a serious person for some reason, but I’m not!

Really?

Yeah, I like to joke around, but people don’t think so.

You don’t look like a practical joker! I’m not sure if that makes sense.

Hahaha… No, that doesn’t make sense. I may look serious, but I don’t act serious 😊
