A benchmark, by general definition, is a standard or point of reference against which things can be compared or assessed.

In business and marketing, benchmarks typically refer to key performance indicators or metrics that serve as a basis for evaluating the performance of strategies, campaigns, or companies within a particular industry or market.

What are Benchmark Groups by Databox?

A Databox Benchmark Group is a peer group created for comparative analysis. It measures your website's performance using the set parameters. The data shared by the companies that are part of that group tells you the lowest, highest, median, and where you stand.

Here's an example

This is from a benchmark group created by Computan with Databox. We asked the group members about their Favorite HubSpot integration and why and how it impacts their website performance. The parameters include:

  • Sessions
  • Bounce Rate
  • Avg. Session Length
  • Landing Page Views to Submissions
  • Landing Page Submissions
  • Pageviews/Sessions
  • DealsCreated
  • Deals Closed Won
  • Average Time to Close Deal
  • Deals Closed Lost

Below, you see the bounce rate parameter and the benchmark view.

This data represents the bounce rate in percentage and date range. The blue line represents Computan's standing in the Group. The green portion highlights the group members' lowest and highest bounce rates. The gray line in the middle is the median, which is the average of all the bounce rate data.

Here's the timeline view of the data.

You can see the lowest, highest, and the median lines. The dot is Computan's standing.

The third view is the detailed view.

The detailed tab shows the median value, date range, host's data, total contributions, and when the benchmark was updated.

The green portion in the images above shows Computan outperforming and better than the median value. If Computan's data is below the median value, the graph will be red, as shown below.

Img 4

This Session's data is in red because Computan's performance is in the bottom 6%, below the Group's average.

Here's the detailed view of the same Sessions parameter.

Why Should I Join The Benchmark Group?

Not all benchmark groups are for you. For example, the examples from the Group shared above are for HubSpot partners only to know which integrations benefit them in getting more stable website traffic by looking at different metrics. If you are a HubSpot partner and want to know where you stand among other HubSpot partners, then you should join the Group.
