Email marketing is one of the most effective digital marketing tools out there. But with so many options and programs available, it can take time to figure out where to start. Being a HubSpot partner, the HubSpot CRM tool for email marketing seems an obvious choice, but surprisingly it is not. We use Salesforce for our internal email marketing campaigns because that best suits our core requirements for several reasons.

What is HubSpot?

HubSpot is an inbound marketing and sales platform that helps companies attract visitors, convert leads, and close customers. The platform includes tools for blog publishing, email marketing, lead management, social media monitoring, and reporting. HubSpot also offers a free CRM system.

What is Salesforce?

Salesforce is a customer relationship management (CRM) software that helps businesses keep track of their customers and sales. It's a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, which means it's hosted on Salesforce's servers and accessed by users via the internet.

Salesforce provides businesses with several features to help them manage their customer relationships, including:

Contact Management: This allows businesses to store and organize customer information, such as contact details and purchase history.

Lead Management: This helps businesses track and follow up on potential customers, known as leads.

Opportunity Management: This allows businesses to track sales opportunities and pipeline progress.

Reporting and Analytics: This gives businesses insights into their sales data, such as performance against targets.

How do HubSpot and Salesforce work together?

Regarding email marketing, HubSpot and Salesforce are two of the most popular platforms on the market. But how do they work together?

The two platforms can be used together to create a powerful email marketing solution. By integrating Salesforce with HubSpot, businesses can use both platforms' features to create targeted email campaigns that convert.

Some of the benefits of using HubSpot and Salesforce together include the following:

Segmenting your lists: With HubSpot's list segmentation tool, you can segment your lists based on criteria like job title, industry, or location. This ensures that your emails are relevant to each contact and increases the chances of conversion.

Automating your email campaigns: Once you have your list segments set up, you can use HubSpot's automation tool to send out targeted emails to each segment. This saves you time and ensures that your contacts receive timely and relevant communications.

Tracking Results: Both HubSpot and Salesforce provide detailed reporting so you can track the performance of your email campaigns. This data will help you optimize your campaigns for better results in the future.

Benefits of using HubSpot and Salesforce for email marketing

Increased ROI: HubSpot and Salesforce offer a wide range of features that can help you boost your email marketing campaigns and see a higher ROI. These features include segmentation, A/B testing, automation, and more.

Greater reach: With HubSpot and Salesforce, you can reach a wider audience with your email marketing campaigns thanks to their large subscriber lists. This means you can generate more leads and conversions from your campaigns.

Improved Deliverability: HubSpot and Salesforce both have strong deliverability rates, meaning your emails are more likely to end up in recipients' inboxes rather than getting caught in spam filters. This can help improve your open and click-through rates, leading to better campaign performance overall.

Enhanced tracking and reporting: Both platforms offer robust tracking and reporting capabilities, so you can see how your email campaigns are performing and make necessary changes to improve results. This data can also create more targeted and effective future campaigns.

How to set up HubSpot and Salesforce for email marketing

Setting up HubSpot and Salesforce for email marketing is straightforward. You'll need to create a new contact in HubSpot, add their email address to the "To" field, and select "Salesforce" as the Integration. Then, you can create your email template in HubSpot and send it off to your list of contacts in Salesforce.

Tips for using HubSpot and Salesforce for email marketing

Email marketing is a powerful tool for connecting with customers and driving sales, but it can be tricky to set up and manage if you're using multiple platforms.

If you're using both HubSpot and Salesforce for email marketing, there are a few things to keep in mind to make sure your campaigns are successful:

Keep your lists in sync: Make sure you have the same contacts in both HubSpot and Salesforce, so you're not accidentally sending duplicate emails or missing anyone out. You can do this by importing your contacts from one platform to another or using a third-party tool like PieSync to keep them automatically synced.

Set up separate campaigns: While trying to run everything from one central campaign is tempting, it's often better to set up separate campaigns for each platform. This will give you more flexibility in design and content, making it easier to track results and compare performance.

3. Use dynamic content: Take advantage of the dynamic content features in both HubSpot and Salesforce to personalize your emails for each recipient. This could be as simple as adding their first name to the subject line or tailoring the message to match their specific interests or needs.

4. Test, test, test: Always test

Why We Use Salesforce To Email HubSpot Potential Customers?

Now, you know both tools are neck-to-neck with each other, so why do we use Salesforce? Sajeel Qureshi, VP of Operations at Computan, and Muhammad Awais, Digital Marketing Lead at Computan have a one-word answer to that, i.e., Deliverability.

"We use Salesforce instead of HubSpot for marketing emails because email deliverability is higher in Salesforce than in HubSpot." Says Sajeel Qureshi, VP of Operations at Computan. Emails sent from Salesforce have fewer chances to land in the spam folder. Now, that's a solid reason there. Plus, there is no contact limit in Salesforce. "HubSpot allows you to send 5K emails daily in mass. If we want to send to more contacts, then we have to pay extra, but there is no contact limit in Salesforce," says Awais, Digital Marketing Lead at Computan.

Conclusion

HubSpot and Salesforce offer a wide range of features and integrations that make them ideal for businesses of all sizes. If you're looking for an email marketing platform to help you take your business to the next level, then HubSpot or Salesforce might be right.
