We've discussed the importance, pros and cons of outsourcing web design in past articles, but once you make the decision, how can you make sure you're doing it right?  Below are a few key pointers for when you want to outsource web design:

1. Be very clear

Your outsourced team is not in your industry so make sure to be very clear about your audience. Also, provide clear instructions on how you want the website to look and work. This way you'll avoid having to make too many changes.

2. Stay on top

Try to communicate with your team at least once a week, and see the reports they create. This way you can correct things on the go.  Doing this will save time and effort for you and the outsourced team.

3. Don't wait until the last minute

If you know you're going to need a website then don't wait until the last minute to hire a team. Working under pressure is not a good fit for web designers. They need time to lay out your website, figure out what things you want people to do when they hit your website and prepare accordingly.  The more lead time you give yourself the better the product.  So plan in advance!
